Verification Services

The Laboratory at PFIFFNER Switzerland is an independent laboratory for verification service on instrument transformers for billing purpose in Switzerland.

The PFIFFNER Laboratory is authorized as a verification laboratory by the Federal Institute of Metrology METAS and carries the identification number E15. The verification service follows the Swiss regulation according to article 2 paragraph 1 letter b of the ordinance of the federal department for justice and police (FDJP) for measuring instruments on electrical energy and power (SR 941.251).

The scope of the verification capabilities of the E15 verification laboratory is limited to the scope of the ordinance of the federal department for justice and police (FDJP) for measuring instruments on electrical energy and power.

It applies to electrical energy meters and instrument transformers intended for residential, commercial and light industrial use. For instrument transformers the range is limited for a maximum voltage Um = 52 kVAC and a current of 5 kAAC.

The PFIFFNER Laboratory is authorized by the Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying (BEV) and carries the identification number A17. The verification service follows the Austrian regulation Mass- und Eichgesetz Bundesgesetz BGBI 152/1950.

The regulation is subjected to instrument transformers used to determine the supply or supply of electricity with a maximum voltage for equipment Um = 123 kVAC. The current is limited to 5 kAAC.
